Blah! It's raining again! And *YAWN* I don't know what is up this year that I just can't *YAWN* wake up *YAWN* if it's a rainy day...

Other than that, things are fine. I got another great group last night, though I didn't make 49. Scary. I should be 50 by the end of the weekend.

My new computer parts should be in today. Upgrading my 1meg of 333mhz memory to 2 meg of 400mhz memory. And upgrading a Radeon 9800Pro 128 to a X850XT 256. I'm thinking that will significantly push up my performance in EQ2 :)

I made a Thai-ish curry last night with tempeh and sweet potato. It's from a recipe in Cooking Light, sort of, mostly. Came out pretty good. I was in the store and grabbed jasmine rice for it, which always works better I think. Whether it was the coconut milk or the tempeh, I don't know, but it was Incredibly filling.

I would *so* gladly trade lots of rain and cooler weather for the scorching and baking 100+ F days we've been having here in Denver, with no rain in sight. Ugh.

Thai-ish curry........Yum!!

I'm hoping you mean meg/gig/s. ;)

And I'd take your weather (the sun chars the flesh from my bones here while I swim through the air), and I'm jealous that you get to open up your computer and swap parts around.

[identity profile] kathygnome.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Um yes. Gigs. yeah.

Well the video card is megs. I'm not going from a 128gig to 256gig card. Though I'm sure the EQ2 graphics scale that high.

Heh, I'm pretty sure that a video card with enough onboard processing power to actually use all that memory in any reasonable fashion (in addition to packing the memory dense enough to fit in a case) would need to be liquid nitrogen cooled.

Which would rock. I want one!

This one takes up two slots with the second slot being the fan, which directs air out the back.

[identity profile] dashingdeviant.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but it can still be bigger, faster, and more ridiculous. Until your computer causes the sun to dim, you won't have enough for EQ2. Besides, you need to have your machine ready for DNF. ;)

Actually, I believe that boiling the oceans is the standard measure of computational absurdity. :-)

[identity profile] dashingdeviant.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but will a machine merely capable of boiling the oceans be able to run Duke Nukem Forever?

[identity profile] kelly-erin-m.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably not Forever, but maybe for a few minutes? ;-)

"I'm hoping you mean meg/gig/s. ;)"

Aw, rats... You beat me to it! Being on the left coast sucks!!! ;-)

As for the rain... Well, I hope I get rained on while I'm out there. I LOOOOOVE rain. Makes me happier than almost anything else can. Last year it rained in the middle of the night, and I stood out in the street for about two hours (at around 1:00 AM) just getting drenched.

[identity profile] dashingdeviant.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Not as much as it sucks to be on the bottom coast.

Rain is pretty cool, I just don't like getting stuck in wet clothes, or having to dry out my boots because I had to go through mid-calf high puddles.

The one thing that will be odd is getting used to 1:00 AM being the middle of the night again.

Sorry to hijack your comment.

Well, the new stuff runs EQ2 incredible!

Hooray for incredible! :-)
