From the [livejournal.com profile] altfriday5:

1. What religion(s) were you raised in, if any?*
I was raised in Congregational churches that belonged to the United Church of Christ, best known for not being able to place their ads on network television that promoted an inclusive non-right wing model of Christianity.

2. How did you feel about those religions as a child? How do you feel about them now?

My feelings changed with time. At times I was a sincere believer. At other times, I just found them to be boring. In the end, I can't swallow sin, which makes the entire basis of Christianity irrelevant. Not that I don't believe in right or wrong, but something so cosmically wrong that the creator of the universe bonks you on the head? That I just can't accept. And I certainly can't accept that if there are things that wrong that God can't forgive me based on my own actions.

3. What religion(s) do you practice now, if any?
I don't practice much. I am sort of Buddhist, though not a very good one. Meat and demon rum you know. I still have some Pagan beliefs, but I don't know. My end with Asatru was such a horrid and hurtful mess. I don't know if I could ever be truly the same again.

4. Are you a member of any structured groups dedicated to celebrating your religion(s)?

No. I just read things on my own and do my own sitting occasionally.

5. How "organized" do you feel the practice and expression of faith should be?

As organized as people want it to be.

Thinking about my religious upbringing, does anyone else remember Davey and Goliath? How about Davey and Son of Goliath?
