Well this morning I woke up to good news from Bangkok about Sophia, which was wonderful to hear. Her kidney function continues to improve and she's eating a lot. She's apparently just a skin graft away from getting out of ICU. (The graft is for her legs.)

Our weekend was different. I didn't game much. The ATITD beta is clearly winding down. There's just not much more we can accomplish before it's all wiped out and there's a certain reluctance to drive ourselves nuts on it. And we're all kind of reserving our strengths for the release next weekend. I played a little bit of WOW, since my account is open. On the whole, I'd rather be in Norrath though.

We went out for Chinese saturday, which was disappointing. I have no idea what's going on, but our "3-4 times a month" place was just not there for us. The wonton soup was disgusting. It had what seemed to be unhydrated onion soup crystals in it. And it shouldn't have that onion taste to start. We sent it back, which now that I think of it, is the first time I've ever done that anywhere. What really hurt was that the soup, which is packed with everything--chicken, pork, shrimp, veggies--everything is why we go to this particular restaurant! Hopefully it was an anomaly. Everything else was fine. Not extraordinary. But fine. Wonder if the lost their cook or something. The rest of the staff seemed the same including the woman we have always assumed was the owner.

And we watched a lot of tv and movies.

Yesterday we ran to the mall and did some shopping at Best Buy. Our remote control died when a cat spilled water no it, so we were looking for a new one. It's not easy to find something that will control all the stuff. The one I picked up did, but it doesn't have "punch through" to make everything control the volume on the stereo, only the tv. So it's useless and going back. I'm not sure what the logic was in not having that feature on a "home theater" remote. In any case, I'm running down at lunch.

I also picked up Final Fantasy IV for the Gameboy (well I'm playing it on the DS). What a great game.

Oh and we made up a batch of martinis and drank too much last night.
