Retail Therapy
Jun. 13th, 2006 02:17 pmWell, I'm back to playing EQ2 again, which seems to happen about every other month. \
But I am tired of tuning down the graphics and having other little glitches. I currently have a hybrid AGP/PCIE motherboard and an old Radeon 9800 pro. It's some flavor of used OEM one and I've never been convinced that it was all the way there. It's also only 128meg. And while the motherboard runs the AGP slow, I'm told that it's not the most efficient. And that hardly surprises me. I bought it so I could eventually upgrade.
And my PC is running at a slower bus speed because I have older memory transferred from my old motherboard and Janna's PC is ancient. The plan was to buy me new memory, transfer the old with the old motherboard to her PC. (She doesn't game) So we're finally going to do that and I'm tossing on an X850 video card so I can finally get rid of the old AGP one.
So I'll be spending the weekend building Janna a new PC and toss the new video and memory into mine. The other plan for the weekend is to have her parents over for Father's Day. We were chatting about what to do and the usual has been to have a cookout of course. But our grill died quite a while ago. So we decided grilling up was the best thing to do, and we're getting a new grill. A cheap one, but supposedly it's not too terrible.
