So, it was a week. And now it's another week. In the middle there were two very short days that seem so unsatisfying after a week + holiday vacation.
Things are good at home. We've added some fans (we have major issues because our windows are too short by 1" for the standard 20" box fan) and the weather has cooperated and it's actually been quite the comfortable summer.
The Nora monster is now standing up and her crawl is lightning speed. We've responded by buying a set of indoor fencing (also suitable for pets!) to create a little cage around the living room, so she can come up and interact with us on the couch, but can't wander off somewhere dangerous or destroy the tv or something.
We also had Janna's parents over Sunday. Or more accurately, they were buying Janna a birthday dinner, which we made into a big Thai
I finally got off my butt and got a clean new razor scraper for my fish tank. I had a horrendous infestation of green algae and while I've solved the issues with a phosphate remover, getting it off the tank was a nightmare. This is the really hard shell green stuff and the razor really did the job. It's so nice to see my fish.
I miscalculated. I knew the Julies had bred (Julidochromis regani), but I thought there was only one baby, there are actually three. Clearly of two different generations. And my multis (Lamprologus multifasciatus) have, of course, bred like crazy and I have probably a dozen of moderate size and maybe another half dozen of teeny tinies. Unfortunately, my pleco has disappeared, which I had figured. I seem to have no luck, which is odd given the proliferation of greenery for it to eat.
In gaming, I've been playing a heap of World of Tanks. I can't imagine a game that I would be less likely to play, particularly for as long as I've been playing (over a year now?), but I just love it. Quite addicting. Quite fun. I'm not very good, but what can one do. I'm working on it.
In Rift, I was there for my Sunday raid and got a rude surprise. No invite, no response to asking for one, and going to the website I'm no longer on the roster. I'd initially withdrawn over gear, but was included last raid and told the leader I could be geared by the next raid and to count on me. Very classy. Also really rage inducing as I'd gotten up early and also rearranged things to fit the schedule. I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to move my characters to Faeblight once I get a character up to level 40 (my cleric there is 38) and that's generally my plan. I've had it with Prismatic. Some really nice people and great being in a big active guild, but just way too cliquey and too much of a sausage fest.
