That Gnome Thing WI
Aug. 15th, 2011 08:09 pm So I've been back in EQ2, using up my 45 free days and spending more on expansions and station cash than i ever did on subscriptions.
I'm having a blast. I love the world. I love my gnome.
Despite my reservations when it was announced--and yes I still blame it for seriously damaging EQ2--the Odus expansion which I'm halfway through playing is quite good. If you had to do it, this would be how you do it. I just think dangling Velius and giving players Odus was a tragedy. I also did make it to Velius. Long enough to get my armor quests for the otter people. It looks really really good there. I can't wait to go back. And they now have public quests, which are the best thing in the world or at least were in Warhammer. I really want to level so I did do a bit of a cheat and bought a gnome clockwork flying mount. I'll still do the quest for the regular one, but I can afford a little real world $$ for some gnomey goodness. Especially if it helps me level faster.
I'm now 86th. Yes, I was 80th a week ago. I'm good at that grinding thing. The guild I'm probably going to join, at least if they have me, is great. I have to meet a few more people, but they took me on some level 90 instances and we had a great time. Oh and that was two levels down as well. Hard to bitch about that one. With some luck I'll end up as their MT healer, they're at least willing to use a mystic in that role which is great. I don't mind earning my place.
Apparently conjurors are also the thing now, though they'll be nerfed soon. Which is the history of the conjuror class.
Feels an awful lot like home.
