pre-thanksgiving

Well, I had one hell of a cold. It arrived just in time for my Veteran's Day long weekend and it's still here, though I'm clearly in recovery mode now. But it killed my long weekend and I took Monday-Wed off from work last week. This weekend was better, now it's just the slowly diminishing cough and congestion. I still sound horrible, but I don't think I'm infectious or anything. Honestly, most of the weekend is just a blur. Though I'm not sure if that's a byproduct of "sick" or "parent."

Speaking of which, the Nora had her 15 month check up and she's doing fine. She's becoming more and more fun to play with. We need to get pictures I know. We have made the revolting discovery that she no longer can be put into a deep sleep simply by driving around with her, which is not so good. That was an easy way for us to get out of the house and not need to worry much as well as our soother of last resort. Mostly right now you just see her getting smarter almost by the minute.

We are, thank goodness, not going anywhere for thanksgiving. We're cooking. I am looking forward to the cooking, but contemplating going shopping this evening makes me want to find a suicide booth. Oh well, I suppose I will live.
