I'm back at work for a grueling two day week, but we did have a festive Yule. 

I made a big feast for Saturday evening: crudites with made from scratch onion dip for befores, shrimp remoulade for an at table app, kale soup (ok that was leftover and we had just the right amount, then for dinner prime rib, roasted potatoes, broccoli with lemon butter. It went really well and didn't kill me. I'm doing a lot more prepping of stuff, which makes it a lot easier when the actual day comes to cook. Everyone seemed to like it.

We tend towards the extremely non-materialistic, but we did get a few things for Nora. I don't think she has much conception of Yule yet, but she liked the lights. We got her a book and some Uglydolls and gave her the pleasure of unwrapping them, which mostly consisted of her dragging the package around until the paper fell apart--it was glitter paper so it got everywhere. To my delight, as I collect them, she absolutely lovers her uglydoll and has spent an insane amount of time just hugging it.

All in all a very nice holiday.
