Well, we had a weekend. Actually we're still having a weekend, but we're just resting. And listening to contractors fix our somewhat rotted windows.
Let's see. Gabby came over Sunday. And that was a really good choice as it was a beautiful day, where friday was probably one of the most hideous summer days ever recorded on cape cod. We got along really well. Never know if someone will be quite the same in real life as in a chat box. The night before after the Melissa Ferrick concert someone had handed us a card for All The King's Men, a drag king troupe from the Boston area, so we wandered around Ptown for a few hours doing the shopping thing and ended up going to the show. It was really really fun. Absolutely worth seeing. Then we hit Napis and I got my fix of Portuguese seafood platter. And Gabby's great. Can't wait to have her back sometime. Gabby stayed over, since it was way too late to be thinking about driving and we ended up talking into the middle of the afternoon, so we took her to Captain Frosty's.
We just sort of crashed and have stayed crashed since. Of course today we had to drop off The Beast at the vets, so we were up in the early AM. And then the contractors called to announce they'd be showing up. I mean, no problem, but oh well. Since then I've chatted online and played games. WOW is down for the day. Or for quite a bit of it.
Gabby gave us copies of the original Star Wars films. We slumped down and watched them almost immediately after she left. Star Wars is the 1981 version, no alterations other than the Crawl and in very good original condition, complete with a mediocre soundtrack on the first film. The picture quality is incredible though. The original looks every bit as good as it did in the theater, not that hideous washed out thing that they released on VHS where you could see grey blocks around the ships and such. There's just no need to have updated any effects on these, they're fine as is. Nevermind politically correcting them.
