Well the author of the Sasser worm has gotten a slap on the wrist.
In fact, he's gotten hired by an anti-virus company. He's actually been rewarded for his crime.
This person's crimes affected millions of people. They cost businesses, people, and governments millions if not billions of dollars. He shut down hospital systems! Airline systems. He could easily have killed someone.
Yet like virtually all virus authors, he gets a lesser sentence than someone would get for selling a little bit of pot.
He should be going away for years if not decades. Prevent him from working in the computer industry? He shouldn't be out of jail until after he's eligible for retirement.
