So it was another weekend. Right now I feel a bit like we're marking time. We have the contractors coming out to give us a guestimate on the removal/remediation of the deck either today or tomorrow, whenever they get to it. And on Thursday we have a home inspection. I think we got a good guy, got great reviews on Angie's list and belongs to every professional organization one can find. He says it will be around 3 hours, which is a good 2 hours longer than the inspections on our previous homes.

And like I said, I feel like we're just waiting and it's kind of getting to me. There's something very surreal about the whole thing. The result was I was rather anti-social. Didn't do much this weekend, didn't even game much. I opted for Guild Wars where I could do a lot of soloing with heroes. I did make some tasty food though. It was actually chilly on Saturday and I spent the day doing a pork loin stewed in black beans and slow cooked. really good.

To throw an irritation in, after 33 years, the harvest gold toilet seat broke in our current house. That means finding one on the internet as I'm not quite up to the $78(!?!?) that Home Depot wants. Looking at the rust on the screws, it might take a little WD40 to get the old one off. Or maybe more than a little.

We did get some things done though. We got two loads of stuff to the dump, including basically an entire carload of old electronics. Geezus, what possessed us to drag a 1996 Directv receiver all the way up from Maryland? Or the scanner that was still in the box we packed it in back in 2000, the tape never even having been peeled back to see what was inside. I still have a couple of boxes of cables to rifle through. That's going to be ugly as they're all in a horrible tangle. They're mainly simple interconnects mixed in with dozens of various sized coax from different cable and satellite installations. In any case, the first load is gone now. And we're starting to think about what we can pack up and how we can stage some of it.
