Ok, so on friday the box was waiting for me with Metallic Love by Tanith Lee, the unexpected sequel to The Silver Metal Lover.

So, how exactly do you write a sequel to a book that is nothing short of legend among its readers? That is a truely beloved part of so many people's lives? That meant so much to so many readers?

Well, my creeping fear since I heard about the sequel is that she simply rewrote the first book. Or ignored it. Or worse, shattered our feelings about it. But no, not at all...

Well my to do list gets shorter. I booked my flight to Thailand. I'm at least on the same planes as Kendra. She's going to call at noon and see if we can get seats assigned together. Thankfully we agree that the window is a good place to be... Arguing over who gets the window is definitely easier than arguing about window or aisle.

And I made an appointment to get my hair and brows done. Frankly, I feel faint. I have no idea why this is such a touchy subject with me, but I'm terrified. Part is that I'm sensitive as hell about my hair anyway. I'm convinced chronically that I'm going bald. The other half is certainly immersion into a full straight women's environment. Yes, this is exactly why I transitioned :) But that's half the deal, now that I'm actually diong this, every new experience is like an exam in university. I keep passing. But, just a lot of firsts for someone who doesn't take new experiences very well.

Well Kendra and I have two of our four seats booked together for our flights from London to Thailand and from London back to Boston. Snagged one of the not particularly desireable, but private doubles in the back of the plane. (747 in 3/4/3) The other two are a mystery. She can choose a seat on expedia and I can't choose one on BA. The reservations people don't care of course. So she's going to pick a middle seat and figure that the other two are singles and we can whine enough to get at least one of them to move. Or better, they won't get reserved at all and I can grab one at checkin.

It would be really really nice to be on a flight just once in my life that wasn't absolutely PACKED.
