Well, not much this weekend. It was nice. Right now I'm cruising on that time change thing and it's feeling like I was able to get to work an hour late. I'll bet I want to leave early though.

As always, the weekend was too short :)

I badgered Janna into making cookies. Chocolate chip. I haven't had them in, geez, actually at this point it's years. Yummy yummy yummy. My food contributions were Pizza on friday night and a nice London Broil and garlic/cayenne mashed potatos Sunday night. Saturday night we did trader joe's crab ravioli and a lot of the TJ hummus and pita. And another TJ recommendation, the "no pocket" pitabread is amazingly good and you can make little "pizza" sorts of things. But just toasting it and then with hummus is pure joy.

We didn't do a whole lot. Janna is almost finished painting the new drawers in the bedroom. They look wonderful and I can't believe how much space we have for clothes! Our bedroom is done up in a lavender and purple theme, it's pretty nice. Now we need to sort out our furniture since there's a lot of rearranging.

Other than that? Hmm. I spent most of the weekend playing EQ2 and Eve. My mystic got to level 30. My first level 30! And she's clearly a lot better than she used to be. Which is good becaues conjurors are the flavor of the month, so there won't be too many groups for me there. It was fun. My guild is still dying though and I'd have to say the same for the game itself. I've never seen an expansion impact a game as little as this one did. Eve went well. We convoyed a shipment through some low sec space. Given the number of people delcaring war on our alliance thesedays, that was an accomplishment. It is a little intimidating to be sitting there with more in my hold than I have.

On other gaming news, I bought Age of Empires 3 and have experienced massive crushing disappointment. I looked at it and at Civilization 4 at the store and decided I was more interested in a pure RTS. Well, I can think of a half dozen things AOE3 doesn't do that Total Annihilation did almost ten years ago. And TA did almost everything better. To be sure, it's pretty. It's really pretty. And I love the little guys answering me in Russian. But pretty is the only thing it is. I'm going to run out and grab Civ 4 today at lunch since everyone seems to be loving it and I'm just in the mood for something offline. (Several of my friends will need smelling salts.)

Civ 4 sold out in an hour after it was released up here, I had some people preorder but after that was taken care of, I sold 10 copies in an hour.

Its too bad AoE isnt that great, it looked half decent. I hate RTS games, It doesnt matter how hard someone tries explain it to me, the lights upstairs arent going off.

Civ 4 is supposed to be excellent. Part of EBs marketing DVD loop this month was for a support group called Civanon. Its like AA just with CIv, its pretty funny.

Make sure and keep your receipt - I got a bad CD in my first copy of CivIV (the game installed, but the copy protection didn't recognize the CD). And apparently it's been happening to a lot of people.

Well I hope not, they didn't have that many copies left. I guess I'll find out at 4pm.
