Well, BU bugged me for missing materials, which I'm guessing is going to be the signature form that I mailed a few days before the deadline since that's the only one on the "status" list that they don't have and seems to be relevent. I did notice that the deadline has once again been extended for the satellite programs, such as the one I'm applying for. The original deadline was March 1st, extended to April 28, and now extended again. It sounds like I'm not the only one who had never heard of the program and also like I'm pretty much assured of getting in. *fingers still crossed*

Updated: I just got another email. They found my signature form and I should hear within, at most, 4 weeks. I wonder if they send an email with a "fat" file attachment or none at all?

Applying virtually completely by computer has been a fascinating experience. My entire hand written materials consist of signing a signature form and signing the release form at the testing center.

BU has a very nice application service that not only lets you fill out the entire application online, including turning most popular document types into a PDF for your essays, but also checks your application for missing items and lets you check its current status. You get updates through emails on your status as well.

This is so much easier than it was 22 years ago.

Glad to hear that you are feeling confident. You should. They really would be crazy not to take you. I'll be looking forward to hearing in about four weeks that you are going to be heading off to school. As for losing things the law school lost my entire application, which was terribly frightening; I don't think large organizations ever do particularly well with keeping track of materials. The computer applications are really a godsend in that regard.

It's funny because while I'm nervous about getting in, I'm still not sure I will accept. The lower cost of BSC and the fact that I really would prefer not to support a socially regressive school like BU both push me towards not going. I might see if I can defer for a year. On the other side is the fact that I just want to be in school.

The update made me smile -- Smith, Chatham, and now the University of Pittsburgh all sent me think little envelopes with congratulatory letters in them. I knew I was getting into Chatham (the interviewer said, "Welcome to Chatham, your letter should arrive within a few days,"), but the other two had me scared stiff to open them. Apparently I don't decide to go to schools that actually send the "fat" envelope!
