This is terrible. Of course the President is not alone in not caring. The rest of the country does not care either. It's like what happens after most natural disasters. Did you know that something like 60% of the pledges that come in for charity after a natural disaster are never paid? Did you know the US government has paid barely a fraction of what it promised after the tsunamis in Asia? We probably never will pay it. And we probably never will spend the money to rebuild in Louisiana. Not that I think the Ninth Ward should be rebuilt, it will just get devastated again. They should give people the money to rebuild in another area, on higher ground, so that when the next storm comes it does not all get devastated. The government is not even covering this up, I don't think, the press just does not care because it is old news and will not sell, since most Americans have stopped caring. Our attention span just is not quite long enough.
