Sick Scooter

Last night I had a very weird dream in which my scooter was disabled at work.

And right now, my scooter is disabled at work. 

This morning I was heading in and as usual everything was fine when the engine just cut out at speed. I rolled down to a halt and tried to get the engine restarted and no-go. I poked at the engine a bit to see if there were any loose wires and got nowhere, so I coasted to the bottom of the hill where there's a public parking area (for those of you who know the cape, this was the grist mill/herring run in Brewster). And voila, it started up. So I took of and it was going fine until it once again stuttered and cut out. I got it started again and it slowly but surely made its way to work stuttering irregularly most of the way.

Unfortunately the cycle shop guy doesn't have his truck and trailer today, so he can't pick it up. I'll leave it locked up at work and then have it picked up tomorrow. It seems to be something fairly simple. It's a basic combustion problem, so its either spark or gas or air. Like everyone, I disconnected the evaporation system a long time ago and I never did put anything on the empty spot, so it's possible something got sucked into the carb.

I know the feeling! My father's family claims their dark hair and eyes come from their Belgian grandmother. Except, she had fair hair and light eyes. In reality, it comes from our Jewish ancestors. However, my father has some real rednecks on his side, and they don't want to admit to that background. It's shameful to me that they don't!
